I am pleased two of my creations were chosen to be published this month by Baby Teeth Journal.    Both art pieces were drawn with metallic markers on black paper and completed in Photoshop.

My poem The Alchemist  has been published in Flycatcher magazine, a free student magazine of Charles Darwin University, Casuarina, NT, Australia.

It was a wonderful surprise to have the first poem that I had ever submitted to a publisher, published.  This link will take you to Flycatcher magazine Issue No 4, Dry Season Edition, to view the published version of my poem or their page 25 shown here.

Any feedback is welcome.

Travelling to the Kimberley WA

19/1/2019

Last year saw me travelling quite a lot.  I am currently planning a trip to our Kimberley region in Western Australia. It is hot and humid there with thunderstorms expected throughout.

The upside of travelling in this area, at this time of year is the freshness of the colours and the increased vibrancy of the landscape due to lots of new growth brought about by the frequent storms .

Happy New Year to all.

I have 3 poems short listed for The Poetic Bond VIII, an anthology compiled by poet and editor Trevor Maynard - due to be published in November 2018.

I am also compiling a book of my poetry in between my home life, travel, and visual arts efforts. My blogging has suffered but I do hope to post more often in the coming year.

All the best in your artistic endeavours

Drawing

Many of us love to draw but may not find the time to indulge ourselves, or  perhaps think it is too hard or maybe even can't think of anything to draw; or feel that 'I'm not good enough' or find another excuse to not pick up a pencil or paintbrush.

That's OK, however; what is 'good'?  We are all unique, no one else can draw what we can draw; they can copy our drawings maybe, but drawing comes from the heart and soul and these essences can't be copied.

There is a beauty in art, as in this creative way we can all express who we are.  My advice is to start doodling, you may be surprised where it will lead.  All facets of our colourful minds are waiting to be found and they will be like no other.
